Survivors are key actors in the fight against human trafficking. They play a crucial role in establishing effective measures to prevent this crime, identifying and rescuing victims and supporting them on their road to rehabilitation.

SE4U Self-paced Training on the Implementation of UNTOC and its Review Mechanism

UNODC Civil Society Unit is inviting applications for an online and asynchronous training “Stakeholder Engagement for the Implementation of the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (SE4U)”. The overall objective of this training is to improve the capacity of civil society organizations, academia and the private sector to contribute to the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC) and its Review Mechanism in accordance with Resolution 9/1 of the Conference of the Parties (COP) and to prepare them for constructive dialogue with government authorities and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

Briefing on UNODC Strategy to Civil Society 25th February 10:30-11:30 Vienna time

UNODC has recently launched its new five-year strategy, covering 2021-25. Recognizing that a key to successful implementation of this Strategy will be the expanded use of partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders, the online meeting on February 25th will provide a briefing to Civil Society partners. The briefing will include a presentation of the Strategy by Jean-Luc Lemahieu, Director of the Division for Policy Analysis and Public Affairs (DPA), UNODC and Bo Mathiassen, Deputy Director of the Division for Policy Analysis and Public Affairs (DPA), UNODC. Registration for participation in the Congress has to be done via the United Nations registration platform INDICO. INDICO is based on the principle of self-registration by the individual participants. UNODC public launch of "Female victims of tracking for sexual exploitation as defendants"

This virtual event aims to launch a new UNODC publication entitled “Female victims of tracking for sexual exploitation as defendants: A case law analysis”. The case-law analysis will be presented in a panel discussion with representatives of international organisations and criminal justice practitioners, in presence of the donor, the Kingdom of Sweden. Main findings of the analysis will be presented during the launch.
