NGO Call for Participation to the ninth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption in Sharm El-Sheikh
UNODC is pleased to inform representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that the ninth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC/COSP9) will be held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, from 13 to 17 December, 2021. More information on the participation of NGOs and the rules of procedure will follow soon and will be available on the website of UNODC.
Considering the relevance of the work of NGOs in anti-corruption and in accordance with Rule 17 of the Rules of Procedure for the UNCAC/COSP governing the participation of NGOs in the Conference, UNODC invites representatives of NGOs to express their interest in participating by 20 August. The rules of participation are as follows:
NGOs that do not have consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) should send the following documents to unodc-ngounit@un.org:
1) A signed application letter on your organization's letterhead;
2) A completed "Contact Details Form" (see document).
NGOs are strongly encouraged to apply as soon as possible, even if they have not secured funding for travel. Please note that in order to allow enough time for the compilation and circulation of the list of NGOs to Member States as required in Rule 17, it will not be possible to extend the deadline further than 20 August.
NGOs with ECOSOC consultative status should communicate their interest by 26 November to uncac@un.org with copy to unodc-ngounit@un.org. An invitation will then be sent in due course.
