Call for NGO Statements at the third intersessional meeting of the CCPCJ

Dear Members of the Alliance,

Regarding the third intersessional meeting of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (official invitations will be sent out soon), which will be devoted to the first round of thematic discussions on the practical implementation of the Kyoto Declaration, following up to the commitments made by Member States at the Fourteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice held in Kyoto, Japan in March. While the sister Commission of the CCPCJ, the Commission on Narcotic Drugs, has extensive experience in organizing thematic discussions to further the practical implementation of the policy commitments, the CCPCJ will host its first round of thematic discussions from 10-12 November 2021, in Vienna. The meetings will be held from 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. Vienna Time (CET) online and in Board Room D, on the 4th floor of the C-Building at the Vienna International Centre. The meeting will be held in a hybrid format, combining an in-person component with online participation.

Thematic session 2: Addressing the economic dimension of crime; (11 November 2021)

Thematic session 3: Mainstreaming a gender perspective into crime prevention; addressing the needs and protect the rights of children and youth in crime prevention; and empowering youth for crime prevention; (12 November 2021)
