35th session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) - 1-5 June 2026, VIC, Vienna

I am pleased to inform you that the Thirty-fifth session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice will take place from 1 to 5 June 2026. The session will be conducted in-person, in the M-Building, at the V.I.C. In addition, plenary sessions will be webcast on UN Web TV.
The Information for Participants in (English, French and Spanish: E/CN.15/2026/INF/1), annotated provisional agenda (E/CN.15/2026/1/Rev.1), as well as other documentation and information related to the session have been posted on the Commission’s session website.
I would also like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to the online Vienna Journal, where the updated schedule of meetings of the day (Plenary, Committee of the Whole, informal consultations, side events and exhibitions) will be displayed, including, where available, UN Web TV broadcasts, documents related to the various agenda items, as well as statements delivered.
Plenary and Committee of the Whole (COW)
The meetings of the Plenary and the Committee of the Whole (COW) will be held in parallel – the Plenary in the Plenary Hall (M Building), the COW in Boardroom A (M-Building). The meeting times will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 to 6 p.m.
As far as the meetings of the Plenary are concerned: on Wednesday, 3 June 2026, the meetings of the plenary will be suspended. Given that the Fifteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice has been postponed and will now be held from 26 September to 1 October 2026 (formalized in GA decision 80/533 of 15 April 2026), the “Thematic discussion: consideration of the report of the Fifteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice” (agenda item 5), will be held during the reconvened thirty-fifth session, on 2 December 2026. This decision was taken by the Extended Bureau of the Commission on 9 April 2026 and subsequently placed under a silence procedure until 17 April 2026, which has not been broken.
The meetings of the COW will be held in English only and will start with the consideration of draft resolutions on Monday afternoon, 1 June 2026, and continue until Friday, 5 June 2026, in the morning.
Plenary sessions will be webcast on UN Web TV, no registration or password is required. COW sessions will not be webcast.
Draft resolutions
The deadline for tabling draft resolutions is Monday, 4 May 2026.
As soon as the draft resolutions will be issued in all official languages, they will be available on the Official Document System of the United Nations (ODS) and linked to the website of the Commission: https://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/commissions/CCPCJ/session/35_Session_2026/in-session-draft-reports.html.
Pre-session consultations (with an introduction to each resolution by the sponsors) will be held on Friday, 29 May at 10:00 and be streamed on UN Web TV.
Side events and exhibitions
Over 100 side events and a considerable number of exhibitions will be held during the thirty-fifth session of the Commission. The organization of the side events and arrangements for participation therein are the responsibility of the organizers. Side events and exhibitions will also appear in the online Vienna Journal.
Exhibitions will be organized at the Rotunda and the M-building of the Vienna International Centre.
