This side event presented a diverse range of civil society priorities for action to be taken forward at the Crime Congress, UNTOC COP, and beyond. The preparatory process for the 15th UN Crime Congress had included a broad range of civil society inputs, in line with the Congress’ mandate and past practice. And the number of registered participants for this Congress has been extremely high, in comparison to past events, demonstrating the increased interest from and action by civil society on crime prevention and criminal justice around the world.
